REV. DR. SANGBOK DAVID KIM

 

Rev. Dr. Kim is a Christian leader who is well recognized internationally. People call him “Little Jesus,”

because he is so very well loved and respected in the fields of theological education and pastoral

ministries. He is currently chancellor of Torch Trinity Graduate University in Seoul, Korea and pastor

emeritus of Hallelujah Community Church, one of the mega-churches in Korea. He has served as

chairman of World Evangelical Alliance, Asian Theological Alliance internationally, and Restoration of

North Korean Churches, Korean World Mission Association, and he has been engaged in broadcasting

ministries.

 

He earned in addition to a BA from Seoul National University, his Master of Divinity and Master of

Sacred Theology from Faith Theological Seminary, Doctor of Theology from Grace Seminary, an honorary

Doctor of Divinity from Washington Bible College, and Doctor of Litterature(Honoris Causa) from Trinity

Evangelical Divinity School, Deerfield, Illinois.

 

He is the publisher of the bi-lingual edition of Our Daily Bread in English and Korean. His books include

Leadership of Christian Ministers; Lost Crown; Theology of Suffering; Serving Others, You Are the Best;

and numerous other published books, and articles for journals, newspapers, magazines.

 

Rev. Dr. Kim and his beloved wife, YoungJa Kim, have three married daughters. Their eldest daughter,

Grace serves as a missionary in Saudi Arabia, the youngest, Christine serves as Priest-in charge, St.

Peters Episcopal Church, Chelsea, New York and the second, Eunice, a teacher, lives in Maryland. We

are thrilled and honored to welcome him as our keynote speaker for our 2022 event.

 

 

김 상복 목사님

 

김 목사님은 현재 할렐루야 교회 원로 목사이며 횃불 트리니티 신대원 대학교 명예 총장으로 목회와 미래 크리스찬 지도자, 목회자들을 양성하는 한국 기독교 계의 대표적 지도자이시다. 김 목사님은 현재 세계 성시화 운동 대표회장으로 섬기고 있고 World Evangelical Alliance 회장으로 섬긴 바 있다.

 

미국에서는 뉴저지 트렌톤 소재 갈보리 장로교와 인디아나 셰리단에서 미국인 교회에서 9년간 목회를 하시고, 이어서 발티모어 벧엘장로교회를 개척, 11년 간 목회를 하시며, 워싱턴신학대학(Washington Bible College)에서 조직신학 교수로 19년 재직, 워싱턴 기독교 방송국 이사장, 한영 [오늘의 양식]을 발간하시었다. 1990년 한국에 귀국, 아세아연합신학대학교에서 조직신학 주임 교수에 이어 횃불 트리니티신학원대학교 설립총장 및 4대 총장으로 역임하시었다.

 

김 목사님은 평양 출생으로 6.25 전쟁으로 남하, 이산 가족이 되신 후, 부산중, 경복고, 서울대를 거쳐 미국 Faith 신대원에서 목회학 석사, 신학석사, Grace 신학대학원에서 신학박사, Washington 신학 대학에서 명예 신학박사, Trinity 복음주의신학대학원에서 명예 문학박사 학위를 받으셨다.

 

평신도들의 목회적 소명과 사역 훈련을 위해 3S 신앙 (Salvation, Sanctification, Service)을 목표로 ‘21세기 새로운 종교 개혁’이라 불리고 있는 평신도 사역훈련을 수 십년간 지속하셨다. 한국 할렐루야 교회 부임 이후 대치동 성전 시대를 마감하고 양재동 시대를 거쳐 분당 야탑산에 위치한 현 교회건물(국민 일보 아름다운 교회 건축상 제 1호 및 경기도지사 건축 문화 대상 수상)을 신축하셨다.

 

국제적으로는 아시아신학연맹 (ATA) 회장, 아시아복음주의 연맹 (AEA) 회장과 세계복음주의연맹 (WEA) 회장으로 섬겼다. 국내에서는 주기철 목사 기념사업회 회장, 북한교회 재건위원장, 남부교회 협력위원장, 한국선교협회 (KWMA) 공동회장, 방송사역 등 많은 협력 사역을 섬겨왔다.

 

저서로는 ‘목회자의 리더쉽, 당신은 확실히 성장하고 있습니까, 네가 낫기를 원하느냐, 실패의습관을 끊어라, ’하나님은 누구신가, 잃어버린 왕좌, 고난의 신학, 섬기는 당신이 최고입니다, 예수의 신학’ 등 외에도 수 많은 저서, 논문, 칼럼이 있다.

 

가족은 김영자 사모님과 결혼한 세 딸이 있으며 큰 딸 Grace 는 사우디 아라비아에서 선교사로, 막내 딸 Christine 은 뉴욕에서 목회자로, 둘째 딸 Eunice 는 교사로 메릴랜드에 거주하고 있다.
